1042S Tax Statement
International individuals (which includes students and post docs) receiving a scholarship or fellowship payment will receive a 1042S tax statement if the amount received was greater than the educational expenses (fee and tuition).

W-2 Tax Statement
International individuals (which includes students and post docs) who are employed will also receive a W-2 tax statement. 

1098T
Students who are residents of the U.S. receiving a scholarship or fellowship will receive a 1098-T tax statement from UCLA and can log onto ACS Tax Credit Reporting Service for more information.  Click on 1098-T to access your record.

Fellowship/Scholarship/Grant Report
All individuals will have access to their Fellowship/Scholarship/Grant Report via URSA Online.  This is an unofficial report that is provided to all as a courtesy to identify the taxable income that needs to be reported on your tax return.  The data on this report is obtained from both FAM (Financial Aid Management System) and BAR (Billing and Accounts Receivable).  The system takes the sum of all fellowship/scholarship/grants received during a tax year (winter, spring, and fall) minus educational allowance (fees, tuition, book allowance) for winter/spring/and fall quarters; the difference between the two is the taxable amount that needs to be reported.  For more information log on to URSA Online: https://www.ursa.ucla.edu/Default.asp.

 
Tax Workshops & Preparation Services

All nonresident aliens with a GLACIER record will be able to use CINTAX, UCLA's Nonresident Alien Tax Compliance System.  For more information, click on CINTAX to find out how the system helps you file your income taxes.

Tax Workshop for International Students & Scholars
The Dashew Center for International Students and Scholars, Payroll Services and Graduate Student Support will be offering their next annual Nonresident Tax Workshop at the Tom Bradley International Hall, Third Floor in 2010. The workshop is specifically designed for UCLA international students and scholars who were nonresidents for tax purposes in 2009. In order to attend the workshop, you must register online by clicking the workshop link from the UCLA Daschew Center home page and must meet the following requirements:

1.   Non-resident for tax purposes in 2009
2.   Must have a completed GLACIER record in 2009

ATTENTION - RESIDENTS
If you are a resident for tax purposes, this workshop will not cover your needs. Instead, you can visit the VITA Program for individual tax assistance on-campus during the first two weeks of April.
